Storage and transport
– Asparagus must be chilled as quickly as possible, to a maximum of 4°C and preferably as close as possible to 0 °C. Storage can be extended by 14-21 days at 2 °C.
– Asparagus must be shipped at 0 to 5 ºC, depending on the length of the trip. The ideal conditions for shipment are 2.2 °C, 90 – 95% humidity and 5 – 10% CO2.
– Temperatures of less than 10 ºC must be maintained during distribution.
